Scientist Invents Ice Cream That Changes Colour As You Lick It

Spanish physicist and electronic engineer-cum-chef and ice cream master Manuel Linares has invented an ice cream that changes colour. The formula is a patent-pending secret but he claims it’s “entirely made with natural ingredients”. He calls it Xamaleón.

The people who have tasted it says that the chameleon ice cream tastes like a mix of fruits. Linares — who created the ice cream as his master thesis — says that the reason why it changes colour is just chemistry: “Any food can change colour depending on temperature and oxidation.”

The ice cream is baby blue before serving it. Then they add a spray — “love elixir” he calls it — which turns it dark, deep punk in about 10 to 15 seconds. Then, as you lick it, it will change into other colours as you can see in the GIF above.

Another colour state Xamaléon.

He’s now working on another two weird ice creams that reacts to the ultraviolet lights in clubs and another one that turns from completely white to pink on its own.
