Google Reportedly Wants To Buy Twitch For $1 Billion

YouTube is the place to go for video, and Twitch.tv is the place to go for live game streaming, so why wouldn’t the two join forces? That’s the report this morning according to Variety: the former looks set to acquire the latter for a lazy $US1 billion.

Variety reports this morning that sources close to the deal say that while the two companies are all cozy, it won’t be the smoothest approval process in history.

Considering that the two companies are both number one in their respective sectors of streaming and video sharing, it’s going to be tough to get the buy through the anti-trust minders in the US government.
