Camelbak’s made a name for itself when it comes to proper hydration, at least when it comes to outdoor activities. But now the company has set its sights on your kitchen — and Brita — with its new Relay pitcher that uses an exposed dual-pleated filter that lets water flow 10x faster than what we’re all probably used to.
Like existing filters, the Relay uses plant-based activated carbon that promises to remove 97 per cent of chlorine, taste and odour. And thanks to the filter’s pleated design, there’s more surface area for the water to make contact with, so it works a lot faster.
And if that’s not enough to encourage you to upgrade, Camelbak’s Relay also has a lid that locks into place so that when you’re pouring there’s no risk of an accidental spill. Available in three colours the pitcher sells for around $US37 while a three-pack of replacement filters runs about $US30. But each of them are good for about four months so in the long run Camelbak’s pitcher is probably the cheapest yet. [Camelbak via Notcot]
