Era-defining hip-hop group De La Soul has decided to make its entire back catalogue available for free download today to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its debut album. Because of label and sample clearance issues, most of De La Soul’s catalogue has never made it online and is peculiarly absent from the likes of iTunes and Spotify.
The albums will be available for free on De La Soul’s website from 11am ET today (Saturday, 3am AEDT) until noon Saturday (Sunday, 4am AEDT). That’s 25 hours, to celebrate 25 years of 3 Feet High and Rising. Sweet. [De La Soul]
