Did A Cat Destroy The Ceiling At A Sochi Olympic Arena?

By now it’s hard to tell what’s true when it comes to reports about the infrastructural failings at the Olympics in Sochi. But what we’ve got here, folks, appears to be security footage of a cat falling through the ceiling of the Adler Arena Skating Center. Oh my.

This unverified video that shows a cat destroying the ceiling of Adler Arena in October 2013, months before the games started. While we can’t say for sure this is the same building, comparing the video to the official Sochi Olympics images of the arena shows some similarities that lead us to believe it could be real. Look at the green couches! Do you all have additional images or information that can corroborate or refute this video’s validity?

The cat appears to be fine and runs away from the scene unscathed, thankfully. And the building was clearly repaired in time for the games. Still, if you thought the Sochi toilets were bad, they’ve got nothing on the ceilings.
