Sony’s Next Z-Series Flagship Leaks

The Sony Xperia Z was great. The Xperia Z Ultra was nifty, and the Z1 was amazing. Now we’re staring down the barrel of Mobile World Congress and wondering what’s next. Well it’s the Sony Xperia Z2, of course. And by of course we mean probably.

XperiaBlog has leaked the specs of what it’s calling the Xperia Z2, the next flagship to come out of Sony at Mobile World Congress.

The new flagship phone will repotedly have a 5.2-inch 1080p panel, 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera (same as on the Xperia Z1), a 2.3GHz chip from Qualcomm powering it all, as well as a whopping 3GB of RAM. That much power puts it on par with something like the Galaxy Note 3 in terms of RAM grunt, making it only the second Android handset to go up that high.

The report says that the Z2 will have a September release date, meaning we may or may not see it at MWC in Barcelona next month.

I’m kind of hoping that we do! [XperiaBlog via Pocketlint
