Found-footage films just won’t die, but at least Welcome To Yesterday has the decency to actually look good at first glance.
Welcome To Yesterday tells the story of a group of friends who seemingly reconstruct the work of one of the deceased fathers. Big black letters on confidential documents reveal that it’s a DARPA project, and that what they’ve stumbled across is a time travel device.
It doesn’t take long, however, before stuff starts going wrong. Planes start crashing, people start dying and they now have to fix their time travelling blunders.
Despite being found-footage, this film actually looks worth watching. The last found-footage movie worth a damn we saw was the awesome Chronicle about teenagers in Seattle who discover they have superpowers.
Welcome To Yesterday hits cinemas in February 2014.
