Yoga studios are nice, but what about the pretentious people and their greasy mats — not to mention all the see-through pants and all the farts? What you really need is your own private meditation cavern in the New Mexico desert. In fact, maybe you need two!
Well, lucky you. Conveniently located between Santa Fe and Taos, these two “beautifully sculpted meditation caverns” are hand-carved out of sandstone canyons tucked into the unique rock formations at either end of the property. An unseen hand shaped not only the main meditation chamber, but also additional rooms, built-in seating, and skylights using “sensual, sweeping lines”.
The photos seem very Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade — or perhaps just very yonic — and the listing promises an experience that is at least as life-changing as the Holy Grail: “When entering the separate chambers you will be awe-struck at the stunning level of detail that is hand-sculpted out of solid stone and the art form will take your breath away.”
At the centre of one of the caverns is a “Tree of Human Kindness”, complete with candlelit nichos (not to be confused with nachos, which I’m sure you can find in the nearby town of Ojo Caliente).
The 208-acre property is divided into 14 lots, but you can have the whole thing for only $US995,000 — or, if you’re feeling only so-so about your investment, grab just one half of the property (including one meditation cavern) for $US550,000.
Underground electric power and telephone is available at the property line. So, what do you say? Om yeah? [Santa Fe Properties]
