Words cannot express how giddily excited we are by this news: you can finally get Calvin and Hobbes ebooks for the first time. Goodbye, weekend.
Almost 30 years since their inception, the comic strips are now available in digital form. There are three altogether: The Essential Calvin and Hobbes, The Authoritative Calvin and Hobbes, and The Indispensable Calvin and Hobbes. Each of those was previously a real, physical book, but now you can read them on your Kindle or tablet. Which, awesome.
Quite why the publishers didn’t release the monstrous compendium as an ebook is up for debate, but who really cares? At least you can now get ’em. They’re available already in Amazon’s Kindle store and Apple’s iBooks store (but not on Google Play Books). They seem to cost between $US11 and $US15 depending on the seller. Go and binge on electronic Calvin
and Hobbes. I know I certainly will. [Andrews McMeel via The Verge]
