When it comes to Star Wars, you can’t get much more old school than the original trailer for the first movie. This teaser, which came out in 1976, features a few interesting oddities that’ll certainly raise eyebrows.
The clip opens with this piece of narrative gold:
“Somewhere in space, this may all be happening right now.”
Quite a bit different to “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…”. I don’t know about you, but I’m glad they went with the latter phrasing.
It would have been nice to see this when it first made its debut — as it stands it’s a nice look into cinema history, but it doesn’t really get the adrenal glands pumping… though the same could be said for the likes of The Phantom Menace.
