Anchorman's Ron Burgundy is one of comedian Will Ferrell's more popular characters, so much so it's seen use beyond the confines of the movie itself. In the clip above, produced by Paramount Pictures for Australia, Burgundy apologies for not being able to join the AFL Grand Final commentary team, something for which he blames sports writer Samantha Lane.
Why, exactly? Best to watch the video.
Unfortunately we missed this one yesterday so the message is a little late, but is humorous nonetheless. If you're wondering why Paramount would go to the trouble of putting this together, it probably helps to know Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues comes out in December.
Paramount also enlisted Ferrell earlier this month to deliver an "update" on the federal election in the guise of Burgundy.
