Amazon sure is on one hell of a roll. First it ruined its own Paperwhite surprise, and now its on to blowing up Sony’s. You know those smartphone lens camera things that have been leaking around? They’re on Amazon right now.
Expected to be announced today at Sony’s IFA press conference, the QX10 and QX100 lens cameras popped up on Amazon with a September 27 release date and a whole bunch of specs. According to the listing, the QX10 has a 2/3-inch, 18-megapixel sensor and a f/3.3-f/5.9 aperture range, while the QX100 has the same 1-inch sensor found in the RX100 Mark II, and a f/1.8-f/4.9 lens. Both have SD card slots and connect to phones via Wi-Fi and/or NFC. In other words, no surprises here.
And then, of course, there are the prices. According to Amazon the QX10 will be $US248, while the QX100 is $US498. A little on the expensive side for something so weird. But, hey, if that’s your bag, you can pre-order now! [Amazon via Engadget]
