Olympus just announced its latest flagship mirrorless camera, the OM-D EM-1. It’s a robust piece of gear that photogs will be clamoring for. And these tear-down photos from ePhotozine show how it’s built like a tank.
The EM-1 boasts many features that set it apart from most mirrorless cameras, and one of those is ruggedness. The beefy magnesium-alloy construction is sure to lend the camera a solid feel and durability. It’s the only mirrorless camera boasting imperviousness to extreme cold — down to -10 degrees Celcius, as well as being splash-proof and dust-proof.
We admire Olympus’ commitment to the practical side of photography, and not just going for style points. We will be sure to put the OM-D EM-1 through the ringer in the coming months to see if it shoots as good as it looks. [ePhotozine]
