Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Launches In Australia

If you’ve ever wanted to get a little more extreme with your smartphone, you’re fairly short on options. Until now: the water-proof and shock-proof Galaxy S4 Active is finally available in Australia.

The Galaxy S4 Active emerged from the rumour mist in London a few months ago, and packs a 5-inch 1080p display, a 1.9GHz quad-core processor inside a fully waterproof case. The S4 Active has the IP67 certification, so it’s you can immerse it in a metre of water for 30 minutes without killing it.

It’s also packing 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Dual cameras (8MP and 2MP) and Samsung’s comprehensive photography software are onboard, with Samsung also including an “Aqua Mode” for taking snaps underwater. Handy.

The Galaxy S4 Active will set you back $699 outright from the Samsung Experience Store, or you can nab it on a contract with Vodafone.

The S4 Active comes in grey by default, but Samsung is bundling an interchangable orange back cover in the box if you want something a little more out there.
