Google’s Word Definitions Just Got Way More Useful

While Google’s word definitions may literally be a little odd at times, the “define word” search command is incredibly convenient. Now it’s even more useful.

An update to the search tool means that the define command now throws up a nice table of data about the word in question, not just the definition. So, you get the etymology of the word, synonyms, examples of use, translation options, and even usage history (presumably powered by ngrams).

Elsewhere, you can also use voice search too, making use of Google’s pretty impressive text-to-speech tech. Nice. [Google via The Verge]
