Everyone’s favourite child actor-turned-geek icon Wil Wheaton has inadvertently filmed his entire Tabletop web series sitting on a couch that was once used to make pornos. We hope he washed thoroughly after each show.
It’s a common Hollywood sob story — you attempt to put the past behind you by embarking on a new, respectable job. Everything’s going swimmingly. But then, someone recognises your cushions and your former career as a porn star prop is exposed.
This is the fate that befell the couch in the web series Tabletop, hosted by Wil Wheaton. The discovery was made by Reddit member A_Monocle_For_Sauron who we’re sure was just watching the movie for the artistry. Other eagle-eyed Redditers noted that the cushions had not even been flipped over. Eww.
Wil Wheaton himself also entered the Reddit thread and proffered the following explanation:
We shoot in a loft in downtown LA that is used for a whole bunch of different shows. It’s unsurprising to me that they also shoot porns there, because it’s an affordable location, with good safe parking, and a bunch of different “sets” all in one building.
You can see some very not-safe-for-work comparison photos over at Gawker.
