Sometimes it seems like no story is complete without a social media angle: what’s the reaction on Twitter, how did the news spread on Facebook? And that, that’s BS.
Equally, just because something happens on social media doesn’t mean it’s necessarily a story. So what if something was trending — it doesn’t necessarily make it interesting. Basically, social media isn’t always as important as people think it is.
