Finally. Microsoft has now confirmed the Australians and New Zealanders will be able to get their hot little hands on the Surface Pro tablet by the end of May.
After months of waiting, Australians will finally be able to get the Surface Pro sometime before the end of May. That’s not super-specific, but at least we know a deadline for the device landing in the country now.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing just yet. Either Microsoft is being cagey about releasing it in order to expand its press, or it genuinely hasn’t settled on one just yet.
As Angus over at Lifehacker points out, pricing for the Surface RT in Australia was similar to that of the US (allowing for the fact we have to pay GST). If that pattern continues, expect the entry-level 64GB Surface Pro to cost around $999, and the 128GB version to be $1099. [Surface Blog]
