Yes, Someone Paid $200 Million For Dodo

Dodo’s often held up as the zenith of budget ISPs, but rarely as a paragon of good ISP performance, either in speed or customer service terms. It turns out that this is worth more than $200 million.

The Australian Financial Review reports that M2 communications has indicated to the ASX that it’ll pay $203.9 million for Dodo, and a further $44.1 million for Eftel, both of which share the same major shareholders. M2 says that Dodo currently has over 400,000 customers with 660,000 active services — and there’s no hint plans offered to customers will change in the near future. [AFR]
