iOS Update 6.0.1 Is Out, And It's Mostly Bug Fixes

Apple just pushed out an update for iOS. Great! It’s almost all bug fixes. Uh... still great, sort of.

Here’s the list:

  • Fixes a bug that prevents iPhone 5 from installing software updates wirelessly over the air.
  • Fixes a bug where horizontal lines may be displayed across the keyboard.
  • Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off.
  • Improves reliability of iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 Wi-Fi networks.
  • Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the cellular network in some instances.
  • Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match.
  • Fixes a Passcode Lock bug which sometimes allowed access to Passbook pass details from lock screen.
  • Fixes a bug affecting Exchange meetings.

You can download it through the Software Update utility or iTunes. We’ll let you know if anything more interesting is going on with the update.

You mean the removal of undocumented features not bugs

Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off.

    that was quite annoying.

OK just did the update: It warned me to plug into power during update as it could consume too much power, I chose to continue wirelessly anyway. I started at 75% battery before installing falling to 74% and (assuming lower) once it started applying the patch and rebooting. After reboot, lo and behold, my battery reports 78%!

    Undocumented battery reporting update??

I had the same thing happen. Started at 95%, phone turned on at 98% after update.

The same thing happens to my TV remote... Stops working, take the battery out and put it back in and I have enough juice for a little while longer - I never once complained about this, just like you shouldn't complain about it on the phone - It's a bonus.

who cares? fix the maps ffs.

Hahaha YES I like how this guy thinks

They forgot to fix that bug called Apple Maps!

No they didn't. They fired the person responsible for the maps mess.

Just got my iPhone 5 yesterday so good timing.

maybe im an ignorant Noob, but...

when they have the coding for, say... Wifi and your camera flash just fine with iOS5...
Why do they have to re write it and stuff it up for iOS6?

wouldnt you simply copy paste that bit?

& how are we supposed to constantly improve and refine our handsets if they do have to re-write basic script like that with every OS that comes out?

I'll wait for a little bit longer before upgrading from v5.1.1

It is doing everything I need it to.. except for iPhoto but I can live without that..

Until I really, really, REALLY need to upgrade, I'm fine with a proven version.

I hope they've fixed the Exchange calendar problem. It's driving the office nuts!
