Hollywood, you cruel, heartless mistress, you. The 3D re-release of Independence Day — possibly the greatest comedy/action movie of all time — has officially been cancelled by 20th Century Fox.
This means you won’t see Jeff Goldblum wirelessly upload a “virus” to an alien spaceship via Wi-Fi and a command line in eye-popping 3D. You’ll just have to settle for the boring, old 2D version.
