Australian Telcos Confirm iPhone 5

Australian Telcos Confirm iPhone 5

Get your favourite tent, sleeping bags and deckchairs ready, fanboys. These are the telcos that will be stocking the iPhone 5.

Telstra, Optus and Virgin Mobile have all officially confirmed they’ll be offering the iPhone 5 on a 4G network, and Vodafone has also confirmed its carriage of the device, but it’s not going to be on a 4G network. Vodafone will support the device on its newly announced 3G+ network which will support speeds of between 2Mbps and 16Mbps in relevant coverage areas. When Vodafone gets its 4G network off the ground next year, the iPhone 5 will be a supported device.

The phones will be available from next Friday 21 September and pre-registration is available on all the relevant carrier’s websites.

Not a single telco is ready to confirm its pricing yet, so we’ll update you as soon as we have it.
