Beautifully Depressing Ice Bucket Constantly Reminds You Of The Consequences Of Global Warming

Kitchen accessories that do double-duty are the best way to maximise the space in your drawers and cabinets. But the only thing this lovely Polar Ice Bucket does — besides keeping your ice dry while it melts — is to remind you of the dwindling polar ice caps and rising sea levels thanks to global warming.

As the ice in the bucket inevitably melts the water drips down into the reservoir below, preventing your drinks from floating around in a pool of icy H2O. But trapped below the bucket is a polar bear on an iceberg, and as the icecubes continue to melt the water levels in the bear's private habitat rise until it's completely submerged. So as you're enjoying a cold one, you'll still be reminded of the environmental impact and the real cost of enjoying a can of your favourite brew. Get it here for $US54, guilt included. Two problems. That's a polar bear, indicating the North Pole, which means it's all sea ice resulting melt wouldn't contribute to sea level rise. Now, if it were a penguin, different story entirely.

Give it a rest, Akira - this is about global warming, not science!

        Exactly! Lol

        Implying global warming isn't science.

        I kid, I kid!

Yes it would but not by much.

it'd still be bad news for the oceans if all that fresh water went into the oceans.

it'd probably precipitate the melting of the southern ice sheets.

but floating around in that 'icy H2O' would make the drinks colder?

That polar bear is probably made of plastic in a Chinese factory pumping out lots of plant food (I mean carbon). Come to think of it the whole thing probably is.
