ABC iView Is Now On Your iPhone

In what is likely to be a godsend for those with big data caps and long commutes, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) now has an iPhone app for iView, its catch-up TV service.

The ABC spent a lot of last year bringing iView to various content platforms last year including the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, but mobile streaming had always eluded Aunty due to cost issues and technology dramas. That’s water under the bridge now, with the app finally available in the iTunes App Store.

The app does come with a large warning about data caps, though. It’s almost as long as the description of the app itself. An excerpt reads:

Important: Data Consumption:
Please note: you are responsible for the data transfer and consumption charges incurred by you when using any ABC app. The ABC disclaims all liability for such charges.

If you have a small monthly quota, or have used almost all of your monthly quota, watching video over a 3G connection could be expensive.

Thanks, Aunty! [iTunes App Store]
