NSFW: How Often Body Parts Are Mentioned In Different Music Genres

If you’re convinced hip-hop laments far too much over the unobtainable rear-ends of the fairer sex, well, FleshMap is here to back you up. Note: A small amount of not-safe-for-work language follows.

Hit up the site and you’ll find this very visual representation of how often certain body parts are mentioned in a variety of music genres including rock, jazz, folk and gospel. The chart itself is made up of samples from “thousands [sic] songs”, which I’m guessing actually means “thousands of songs”.

Unsurprisingly, hip-hop is dominated by the more racier flesh bits, with “arse” making up 23 per cent of body parts. “Dick” comes in at 8 per cent, while “Pussy” appears 5.3 per cent of the time. And yes, the chart comes complete with pictures.

Gospel, and to a lesser degree, blues, loves crooning about hands, while every other genre is fixated on eyes — I’d go as far to say that, universally, it’s the clear winner.
