Whedon Hopes To Film New Dr Horrible Soon

Joss Whedon might just be the hardest working man in showbusiness. No, wait, that was James Brown. Still, good news: Whedon’s still putting the finishing touches to The Avengers, but after that, he’s hoping to get a start on a Doctor Horrible sequel.

The original Dr Horrible’s Sing A Long Blog was a pleasant result of the 2007 writer’s strike, and a great example of a series shot for very little money, released online and now available across a range of media, from comic books to DVDs. Presumably this time round there may be more budget, but nailing down the series stars — most notably Neil Patrick Harris — could be tricky. Whedon told Wired that:

“We’re stuck, basically, at this one part in the process. All of us are looking at this summer as the time when we can go, ‘Hey, you know what? We’ve got a little free time, let’s get unstuck.’ Neil has been like, ‘How long?’ We’re all sort of just waiting, but the waiting will stop.”

I, for one, can’t wait. Plus, it gives me a chance to embed this. Just because it’s Friday.
