If you needed any further proof that you don’t need the most cutting-edge camera equipment to take beautiful photos, check out these shots by Jason Bognacki, who attached a 1919 Piccolette Contessa-Nettel folding camera to his 5D Mark II.

The results obviously have a soft, old-timey feel to them, but the camera’s lens was still able to resolve incredible details when placed closer to the subject. In this case, his dog’s nose.

It didn’t fare quite as well outdoors with the sun in frame — the lens flare tended to blow out the image quite a bit — but since everyone’s obsessed with creating retro results through apps like Instagram, it shows that older camera equipment still has some life left in it.
