Full List Of HTC Android Phones Getting Ice Cream Sandwich

If you have an HTC Android phone, you're probably wondering where your Ice Cream Sandwich is. And though Android 4.0 ICS remains an elusive treat for most Android users, it's gotta be a little comforting to know that the update will eventually come to your phone, right? Well, if you have these HTC phones slated to get Android 4.0, it will.

Following the release of Ice Cream Sandwich on Telstra's HTC Velocity 4G, HTC has just announced which of its phones will get the tasty update and the list is looking pretty solid, with most of HTC's recent headlining phones getting the makeover treatment. In all, there'll be 16 phones worldwide getting 4.0:

  • DROID Incredible 2 by HTC
  • HTC Amaze 4G
  • HTC Desire S
  • HTC Desire HD
  • HTC EVO 3D
  • HTC EVO Design 4G
  • HTC Incredible S
  • HTC Sensation
  • HTC Sensation XL
  • HTC Sensation 4G
  • HTC Sensation XE
  • HTC Raider
  • HTC Rezound
  • HTC Rhyme
  • HTC Thunderbolt
  • HTC Vivid

HTC said that Android 4.0 is in the "early stages" of rolling out to the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE.. Of course, HTC hasn't specified when for the other phones, so you could still be twiddling your thumbs with Gingerbread for all we know but at least your phone's not SOL yet. As for phones not on the list? Well, I guess it's time to get a new phone. [HTC via TechCrunch]

    no HTC one variants?

The HTC One Series (X, XL, S and V) all come with ICS and Sense 4.0.

Guess it was a given that the original Desire wouldn't get ICS, especially when they cancelled even Gingerbread for it.

Thank God (or HTC) for unlocking the bootloaders though, I got a stock ICS build going on mine that runs smooth as (just in BETA and has a few bugs to iron out).

Its pretty good but I hope the camera fixes come soon.

my poor desire :( i rooted it though so im not too sad, and bonus is my contract is up soon so i guess ill be getting a ICS phone soon anyway =D hooray

Good news with the Desire S getting ICS. I had read somewhere that it would miss out. I had this phone on contract from Telstra but passed it to my old man recently after I was given a Galaxy Note as a late Xmas present. The old man loves the Desire S and will love it even more with ICS.

Next Question, which on the list are getting Sense 3.6 and which are getting 4.0?

Oh wow, I have an Incredible S and I wasn't holding my breath for support but I guess I'm lucky

What are you talking about? The incredible S is their flagship budget midrange phone. Expect support for at least another year.
