A One-Metre Model Of Tim Burton’s Batmobile Is A Great Way To Blow $630

A One-Metre Model Of Tim Burton’s Batmobile Is A Great Way To Blow $630

Even the Tim Burton-era Batman films look a little campy compared to Christopher Nolan’s take on the Dark Knight. But it’s hard to argue that the Batmobile driven by Michael Keaton wasn’t iconic, which makes this incredibly detailed model hard to pass up.

At 99cm, the collectible is 1/6-scale version of the original. And at that size there’s plenty of room to pack in the details like working lighting, a dashboard full of miniature instruments and dials, removable machine guns and even the cocoon armour that everyone wishes their car had.

You can pre-order it now from Sideshow Collectibles for $US630, but it’s not expected to arrive until May 2013, well over a year away. So perhaps Lucius Fox himself is overlooking the final designs, and we all know how busy he is these days. [Sideshow Collectibles via Albotas]
