This Infinite Video Screen Pendulum Trick Just Blew My Mind

Even after being awake for hours, my mind still wasn’t ready to deal with Jonathan Brainin’s kinetic video installation which creates a virtual version of a Newton’s cradle using a couple of LCD displays and a video camera.

The smaller of the two displays swings back and forth in front of the larger one, while a video camera films them both. At the same time, the live video feed from the camera is fed to the rear monitor, creating this amazing infinite pendulum effect (that you probably shouldn’t try at home) thanks to the slight delay in the signal.
