Ice Cream Sandwich Isn’t All That Flashy

It’s got glitz and glamour and appears to run exceptionally well, but the one thing that the Google Galaxy Nexus doesn’t have that older Android handsets do? Flash support. What’s more, you can’t even install it.

It shouldn’t be too surprising, what with Adobe declaring that it’s ceasing development of Mobile Flash. What’s interesting here is that the limitation is more a matter of Adobe not having released mobile flash for Android 4.0 generally. So if you do get your hands on a Galaxy Nexus, you won’t even find the option to install it — or at least not yet. Google’s still hopeful this will happen, telling Slashgear that

Flash hasn’t been released for ICS yet so as far as we know, Adobe will support Flash for ICS.”
