For the most part, itty-bitty satellite speakers are just alright — a compromise made for convenience. The new Boston Acoustics SoundWare S system looks like it might actually be able to blow up a room with sound.
The SoundWare S package has five two-way satellite speakers and a subwoofer. The satellites have 3.5-inch woofers and 0.75-inch tweeters squeezed into a tiny package. They’re bigger than most compact satellites out there, which means more volume and more bottom. Not that you should worry about the bass: the powered 10-inch sub delivers 200 watts of rumbling boom.
