Sure, Kodak is quickly becoming a penny stock. But that doesn’t mean it can’t still produce a solid and rugged outdoor camcorder like the Playfull Waterproof.
The Playfull Waterproof is a beefed-up addition to the Playfull line. It’s waterproof down to 3m for up to two hours, as well as shockproof, surviving falls from as high as of 1.5m, and dust/grit-proof to boot. It even uses a white balance that automatically adjusts to the on-screen subject for dusty conditions and employs a basic image stabiliser.
Granted, stepping down to 720 resolution from the original Playfull’s 1080 may seem like a hard pill to swallow, the waterproof version does offer a significantly broader venue of possible filming locations. The Playfull Waterproof will be available later this fall and will retail for either $US100 for just the camera or $US120 for the camera/4GB memory card combo.
