RAW Image Support Is Now In Windows Photo Gallery And Explorer

Professional and casual photogs alike will be happy to know that Microsoft caved and finally supports raw, uncompressed images in Photo Gallery and Windows Explorer. They may be bigger, but they just look better. And Microsoft knows it.

The new codec pack includes support for more than 120 cameras, whose files can be viewed without having to be converted first. When you edit anything, Photo Gallery will make a copy of your RAW file, with any changes you make saved in JPEG or the newfangled JPEG-XR format. Well played, MS.
