Heads up if you’re in the midst of migrating your BlackBerry data over to an HTC phone. HTC confirmed that it’s working to fix a bug causing all SMS messages from the BlackBerry device to be re-sent again to the original recipient.
Thankfully, the issue only occurs in certain circumstances, and messages are not sent to anyone who didn’t originally receive them.
The issue only arises in the following circumstances
1. The user is transferring data from a BlackBerry device
AND
2. During the HTC device setup, the user elects to use the Transfer Data application
AND
3. The user elects to transfer all SMS messages
This issue affects the HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire S, HTC Desire Z and HTC Wildfire in Australia and the HTC Wildfire S in New Zealand. It does not affect HTC Sensation, HTC ChaCha, HTC Salsa, HTC Desire HD, HTC Desire, HTC HD7, HTC Trophy, HTC Legend or HTC Aria devices
HTC says they’re working on an update and will notify customers via your device once it’s available for download.
