In case you haven’t noticed, we live in the information era. Very few things can truly be kept secret. Wanting to hop on the WikiLeaks bandwagon, the Wall Street Journal just launched their new site SafeHouse.
Allowing people to securely and anonymously submit tips, documents and databases for consideration, WSJ says their aim is to “uncover fraud, abuse and other wrongdoing”. Once an item is submitted, editors will be able to work with the tipster as the vet and review the information. And the WSJ aren’t the only ones considering something like this. Back in January, New York Times editors also expressed interest in a submission tool for leakers.
And yes, I absolutely will use this to submit my roommates drunken confession about loving Comic Sans. [WSJ SafeHouse via Slate]
