Google Sticking NFC Decals Across Five US Cities

Google’s IRL /”Places/” tech – a radio-tagged sticker that you can scan with a compatible phone for venue deals and info – is spreading. And that’s a great thing! The big push is hitting Austin, Portland, Las Vegas, Madison, and Charlotte, North Carolina.

As more phones get NFC superpowers, we hope (and expect) the tech to really take off. It’s cheap, benefits both local businesses and patrons, and saves you some finger-taxing typing when you’d rather be using them for eating wings and taking shots. Or shopping for little baby booties. Whatever your flavour! [NFC World via SlashGear]
