David Bowie Is Releasing A 36-Year-Old Song As An iPhone App

One of my favourite-ever songs, Golden Years by David Bowie, will be released as an iPhone app for fans to remix and create their own “oddities”. Speaking of oddities, if you can’t wait until June 6, when the Golden Years app is released, you can try your hand at the Space Oddity one for $US2 now.

Eight tracks will be available for tinkering with on the Golden Years one, whittled down from the original 16: Bowie’s vocals; backing vocals; the 12-string guitar; guitar; bass; drums; harmonium and percussion. If you need to familiarise yourself with the track before June 6, check out the YouTube video above. [Music Radar via Guardian Apps Blog]
