8tracks Radio App Lets You Crowdsource Your Playlists

At one point in time, you’ve compiled an embarrassingly long list of your favourite musical artists or albums and posted it to an online profile. 8tracks’ new iPhone app lets you harness that spirit of musical exhibitionism (or voyeurism).

8tracks, the popular internet radio startup that lets users create and share playlists, has launched an iPhone app that allows users stream their playlists on the go, with an Android version of the app scheduled to be released later this year.

While the inanity of some musical overshares on social media is easy to mock – no, what do YOU think of the new Drake album? – there is clearly some appeal in being able to share playlists with people you know, or musicians you don’t. [iTunes]
