NASA Worker Falls Off Space Shuttle Pad And Dies

Bad news keep piling on: A United Space Alliance employee died today at Kennedy Space Center’s launch pad 39-A, in Florida.

He fell off the space shuttle Endeavour down to the ground. NASA emergency personnel tried to revive him without sucess.

Work has been suspended for today as an investigation goes underway. NASA officials have declared that the investigation will not delay Endeavour’s projected April 19 launch, which in theory is the penultimate space shuttle launch. It will be the last flight of Endeavour, flying mission STS-134. The shuttle – which will be commanded by Mark E. Kelly – the husband of Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords – will take the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer and an ExPRESS Logistics Carrier to the International Space Station. [WPBF]
