Commonwealth Bank Using Augmented Reality As An Ad For Property App

The Commonwealth Bank has been using augmented reality in its property app for almost a year now – and it’s a pretty good solution too. But for the non-tech savvy among us, it can also be a little bit confusing… which is why the bank has released a new 3D reader augmented reality app to try and explain how to use its property guide app. It’s kind of like Inception, except much less entertaining.

Working off a full page newspaper ad, the new AR app lets you discover the property market in the fictional town of Cherryford Hill, with voice guidance on how to get the most out of the Commonwealth Property app.

It’s an interesting approach – using AR to advertise the benefits of an AR app – but that be the thing that makes it successful. Or not. We don’t know, but if you’re interested in AR, it might be worth checking out.
