Remember when it was so exciting that the Verizon iPhone 4 would also act as a hotspot? Well, here comes that cold shower: the carrier confirmed that the feature will cost $US20 per month, on top of your data plan.
It’s really not all that surprising; it’s the same rate that you pay for hotspot privileges on any other Verizon smartphone. The hotspot feature comes with its own 2GB data pool that covers any of the up to five devices that have hopped on your phone’s 3G connection. Every gigabyte over that will cost you an additional $US20.
So the cost is expected but still somehow disappointing. We have to pay for the things we want! How rude. [Macworld]
