Other helmet-cams, from the likes of GoPro and Oregon Scientific, look like they’d shatter within seconds of impact. V.I.O POV.HD is smashproof, waterproof, shockproof, dustproof… oh, and shoots 1080p footage of all the wildest adventures.
With a six-element glass lens and 1080p sensor filming 142-degree views of slopes, waves or raucous toddlers, there’s also a separate device which stores video on a 32GB SDHC card, watchable on the 2-inch LCD. A wireless remote lets you tag scenes while in action, which can be compiled into one big highlights video.
You’ll need 4x AA batteries to power it up, so better buy a battery charger because it’s pretty pricey at $US600 (shipping in February.) [V.I.O. via Werd]
