Panasonic’s TA1 Camcorder Will Give The Flip A Run For Its Money

title=Panasonic has decided to dip its toe into the multimedia camera market with the TA1, a Flip-sized camcorder with some intelligent feature additions and a fantastic pricetag.

The TA1 records in 1080p at 30 frames per second, includes electronic image stabilisation and records to SD card. Like the Flip, it has a single big red button to start and stop recording, but instead of internal storage records to SD cards. It’s compatible with both PCs and Macs and has a dedicated button to switch on an LED light for shooting in dark environments.

The TA1 will take 8MP snaps, and can let you pull out a still image from a recorded video straight from the camera. It also doubles as a webcam, completely compatible with Skype.

It’ll set you back $249 when it hits shelves in September in a range of colours.
