112,000 people streamed the new Doctor Who premiere on iView over the weekend. Kind of a good story for the ABC, isn’t it?
It also provided a massive boost to the service’s numbers, with a total of 224,000 visitors, 540,000 visits and 2.8 million page views in the week up until yesterday.
Comparatively, the public airing of the show had 1,033,000 viewers tune in on Sunday night. Mind you, the way TV ratings are measured is a LOT less accurate than the web.
Still, having large numbers like that for a VOD service only reinforces the position that accessing TV shows online is the future.
