How The Games Studios Are Battling Resale

Stephen Totilo has a fascinating article over at Kotaku detailing the two main strategies the games studios are using to stop you reselling your game to EB or Game. Going forward, you can expect to see more games released in downloadable forms only, as well as lots of extra downloadable content released over time. Head on over to Kotaku and check it out - it's a great read.

The thing I like most about this strategy is that even though it's not combating piracy as such (although I'm sure it probably has a slight knock on effect) it's a strategy that both adds to the company's bottom line and results in a win for the consumer. And wins for the consumer are rare these days. [Kotaku]
