Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen Director Michael Bay loves IMAX so much, he’s cut a special version of the film for IMAX viewers with extra robot fight scenes. Awesome!

“For IMAX, I created a slightly longer cut with more robot fighting,” Director Michael Bay said. “Four scenes were shot on IMAX cameras so the image will fill the full IMAX screen for these scenes.”
Even better: if you happen to live in Melbourne, the Melbourne IMAX is holding a special screening before the official opening on June 24… Midnight on Tuesday June 23. You can get tickets now through IMAX Melbourne’s website.
Considering the success of the IMAX scenes in The Dark Knight, I reckon we could be in for a similar mindblowing experience. At least I’m hoping we are. After all – who doesn’t want to see Optimus Prime rendered perfectly to scale on a massive screen?
