Vodafone Upgrading 3G Network 1st Week Of May

Mobile phone tower.jpgIf you’ve been bummed by Vodafone’s 3G coverage map outside of the capital cities, things are looking up. The telco is currently in the final testing stages of its network for major regional centres, and looking to push the service live in the first week of May.The boost will raise Voda’s 3G coverage to reach 80% of the Australian population, and includes areas like: Albury-Wodonga, Ballarat, Ballina, Bunbury, Byron Bay, Cairns, Darwin, Hobart, Kiama, Lismore, Mackay, Newcastle, Toowoomba, Townsville, Wollongong, Bowral, Nowra and Wagga Wagga.

If you’re not in one of those areas, but still use Vodafone’s 2G network, you should get upgraded to 3G by the end of August this year. And that roll out will take their 3G network to 94% of the population.
