ATO Website Crash: One Petabyte Of Data Lost

Dec 14, 2016, 1:09pm

I've encountered a similar issue with EMC storage. Controllers encountered a STOP condition that hadn't been seen before. Vendor wiped the arrays to resolve, without confirming the client had backups (they didn't).

We've just moved to 3PAR, hope like hell this doesn't occur here.

NES Classic Edition: The Gizmodo Review

Target has them available from Friday, was in their most recent catalogue, but at $99

Edit: Their online catalogue shows it, but clicking it results in 'Content not found' - the controller however is listed at $19.

Put 'Allure Family' or what ever in the header menu, with links to the other sites as menu entries?

You've already got the other sites at the bottom of the page anyway, that will suffice for me.

Ignoring my gripes above, I like this design on desktop. I used to find myself zooming on the old one for easier reading which I no longer have to do.

Thank you for adding a delay to the auto appearing drop down menus - it was annoying having that flash up when i was going to the address bar/tabs.

Edit: Do the trending articles on the left need to be numbered? Seems pointless.

I'd upvote, but that seems broken.

Agreed, viewing a page on mobile then scrolling through the click bait is annoying. Esp. when I'm trying to jump straight to the comments, the images load late and I have to scroll back down again.

Agree, the auto playing videos suck! The trend towards those and larger images suck when browsing on mobile with limited data (ie on the train wifi with 10mb datacap). For now I've switched to Firefox where I can disable images and some of the autoplaying shit.

I also intensely dislike the promoted links between articles and comments - most are useless clickbait (with exception to the ones that link back to giz or kotaku). Recently they've been nothing but multiple ads for those stupid tracking devices.

Edit: Still getting 'Error Sorry, there was a problem voting this comment.' whenever I try to upvote/downvote.

I managed to click on it on an email I sent to my recent ex. We had broken up amicably but she thought with that email + gif I meant that I no longer wanted anything to do with her.

It didnt help that I have piss poor reception at home - she sent me txts and tried to call but went straight to VM - thought I had blocked her. It was 10pm by the time I saw it and called her - she'd been stressing the fuck out all day. Poor girl.

Had to laugh.

What Was Your First Screen Name, And Why?

Sep 26, 2015, 2:48pm

I use to frequent an IRC chat site called thejunction. Struggled to come up with a name, looked out a window and saw a plank in the yard. After a short while I changed it to Planky. That was 21 years ago... holy shit...

The name predates ed, edd & eddie, but Im glad for it as they gave me my avatar.
