It feels as though it's been approximately 300 years since Doctor Who was last on the air, which has got me thinking about the classic show while waiting for the arrival of Jodie Whittaker's new Doctor. And between Twitch's ongoing marathon and its impending arrival on Blu-ray, I've been thinking: Tom Baker's first season is bloody good.

But now, it seems like the corporation is looking to give those releases an upgrade -- kicking off with a complete box set featuring the beloved Fourth Doctor's first appearances.
Thirty-eight years after it should have first aired, Douglas Adams' last Doctor Who story, "Shada," is finally complete. Was it worth a nearly four-decade wait? It's hard to say. Because without that legacy of mystery to propel it, "Shada" would never really have become more than the sum of its otherwise rather average parts.
